In the exciting match played on Wednesday night under IPL 2024, Gujarat Titans had to face defeat at the hands of Delhi Capitals by just 4 runs. Batting first, Delhi set a target of 225 runs for Gujarat thanks to Rishabh Pant's 88 runs and Akshar Patel's 66 runs. Gujarat Titans had almost reached this target, but missed the boundary on the last ball. After the defeat, captain Shubman Gill explained the reason for the defeat and also praised the performance of his players. He said that if we could have restricted Delhi to between 200-210 runs, the result of the match would have been different.

Shubman Gill praised the performance of his players against Delhi and said that we played really good cricket, but it is disappointing to lose in the end. Performing brilliantly till the end, we never thought that we would be out of the game at any time. There is no point talking about plans when you are chasing the target of 224 runs. Just get on the field and score runs.

It is known that for some time now some players have expressed their displeasure over the impact player rule, but the Gujarat captain does not feel so. Shubhman Gill said that I think impact players have some role in high scoring. Even if you lose the extra wicket, it gives extra help to the batsmen to carry on. This rule gives license to the batsmen to run till the end.

Shubman Gill attributed the reason for GT's defeat to the runs scored in the last overs. He said that we should have restricted Delhi to 200-210 runs, but we gave away extra runs in the last 2-3 overs. It is a Delhi ground, we talked about it during the run chase. If one is a set batsman or finisher then one has to perform well.
