Rio de Janeiro: Indian shuttler PV Sindhu on Wednesday thumped China’s Wang Yihan in the crucial quarter-finals Badminton game of the women’s singles category in the Rio Olympics at Rio de Janeiro in Brazil.

The defeat came as major setback to the World No. 2 Yihan as it has ousted her from the Rio Olympics.

In a 54 minutes clash, Hyderabad girl outshined Yihan by 22-30, 21-19 at the Rio Centro Pavilion 4.

Both shuttlers have shown tremendous game-play but Sindhu dominated at the end.

21-year old shuttler will play the winner of second quarter-final game between Akane Yamaguchi and Nozomi Okuhara.

Sindhu is just two games away from winning the gold for India.

India, however, has not won a single medal in the Rio Olympics 2016 so far.
