Rio de Janeiro: In a massive setback for India, Shuttler Saina Nehwal and Shooters Gagan Narang and Chain Singh have been crashed out of the Rio Olympics 2016 event on Sunday.

Saina Nehwal out of Olympics:

  • Saina knocked out of the Olympic 2016 event after losing to Marija Ulitina of Ukraine in the Group G match
  • The 2012 London Games Bronze medallist was defeated by World No.61 Ulitina, who registered a 21-18, 21-19 win

Shooters Gagan Narang and Chain Singh fail to reach final of men's 50 metre Rifle event

  • Shooter Gagan Narang and Chain Singh failed to enter the final round of men's 50 metre Rifle event at the Rio Olympics
  • Chain Singh secured 23rd position with a score of 1169
  • Narang finished 33rd spot with an overall score of 1162
  • Eight shooters qualified for the final round
  • Russia's Sergey Kamenskiy set new Olympic record with a score of 1184
  • Germany's Daniel Brodmeier was second with 1177
  • Norway's Ole Kristian Bryhn seized third spot with a score of 1177
