PV Sindhu enters into quarters of Badminton Asia Championship

New Delhi: PV Sindhu yet again gave a clinical performance by reaching the quarter-finals of the Badminton Asia Championship on Thursday with a straight game victory over unseeded Japanese Aya Ohori at the Wuhan Sports Centre Gymnasium.

The fourth seeded Sindhu thrashed her counterpart by 21-14, 21-15 in the second round match which lasted for 40 mintues.

Sindhu is the only Indian left in the contest after Ajay Jayaram's second-round defeat in the hands of Chinese Taipei's Hsu Jen Hao 19-21, 1-=21.

She began her crusade on high note by defeating Dinar Dyah Ayustine of Indonesia by 21-8, 21-18 in high profile first round encounter.

Earlier, Sindhu defeated Caroline Marine in 2017.
