Hyderabad: Olympic silver medallist PV Sindhu, on Monday, arrived her home city to a rousing welcome. Accompanied by her coach Pulela Gopichand, she travelled across the city roads in a special open double-decker city bus made available by BEST, Mumbai.
Politicians gathered at airport:
- The Olympic medallist arrived at Hyderabad airport amid shower of flowers by her fans. Several politicians, sports enthusiasts and general public representatives were present to welcome Sindhu.
- The first-ever female badminton finalist at Olympics and her coach Gopichand also obliged their fans by giving autographs and posing for selfies with them.

Administration decorated the bus, Kiambi also present with PV Sindhu:
The BEST bus that drove Sindhu to Gachibowli stadium was decorated with long strings of marigold flowers. This was to be followed by her public felicitation. Srikanth Kidambi, who reached the men’s badminton quarter finals at the Rio Olympics, also accompanied his fellow player on the bus.
