Rajkot: Indian Cricket team has given a spirited reply to England’s mammoth total, thanks to Cheteshwar Pujara's 9th ton. Hitting his 9th Test hundred, Pujara is playing on 112 runs along with Murali Vijay. The century for Saurashtra boy came in his home ground.

Following are the other records set by Pujara:

  • Pujara has become a batsman scoring a ton with highest batting average at home ground.
  • It is Pujara's 9th Test hundred, 7th at home and 3rd vs England.

It could be mentioned here when Pujara was playing on 86 runs, he was given leg before wicket to Zafar Ansari, Then, Pujara gone for a review following which DRS worked for the local boy and was given not-out.

Resuming the Day 3 play, India lost old war horse Gautam Gambhir (29) who departed adding a single run in his inning. Later, Vijay and Classy Cheteshwar Pujara lead India's charge.
