Rio de Janeiro: The United States on Saturday bagged a gold medal after boisterous Michael Phelps heroic in the 4x100 medley relay in the Rio Olympics at Rio de Janeiro in Brazil.

The US team including Ryan Murphy, Cody Miller, Michael Phelps and Nathan Adrian clocked 3:27:95 to complete its race 1.29 seconds ahead of Britain team including Chris Walker, Adam Peaty, James Guy and Duncan Scott.

Australia, however, clocked 3:29:93 to finish the race leaving it with the bronze medal. Mitchell Larkin, Jake Packard, David Morgan and Kyle Chalmers represented Australian team.

Winning 23rd gold, Phelps swam his final race in the Olympics.

Phelps career could be called as a most successful Olympic career as it included 23 gold, three silver and two bronze, making 28 in total.
