Pallekele: Australian Cricket team on Tuesday posted a record total of 263 runs against Sri Lanka in the 1st T20I at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Sri Lanka.

It was Glenn Maxwell’s heroic knock of 145 runs off 65 balls under which Aussies scripted big total. He has hit 14 boundaries and 6 sixes in his innings.

Maxwell’s ton has come in just 49 balls.

Australia has hit 85 runs in the last 5 overs of its innings.

Earlier, it was Sri Lanka which holds the record of maximum total against Kenya in 2007. The team had scored 260 runs.

Australia ended its innings at 263 runs with the loss of 3 wickets.

Sri Lanka, however, failed to chase a big total scoring 178/9 in 20 overs.

Australia won the match by 85 runs.

Australian bowlers Mitchell Starc and Scott Boland picked 3 wickets each.
