Lionel Messi's World Cup jersey auctioned Rs 64.75 crore

Often auctions of items related to sports and players are held, in which bids worth crores of rupees are received.

Now six jerseys of great football player Lionel Messi have been auctioned, which have been bought for crores of rupees.

In the auction held in New York, these six jerseys were bought for 7.8 million dollars i.e. about Rs 64.75 crore.

All these jerseys were worn by Messi during the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Messi, who made Argentina the champion under his leadership, wore these six jerseys in two matches of the group round, last-16, quarterfinal, semi-final and the first half of the final.

The auctioning organization Sotheby's said that this has become the most expensive auction of this year. According to a Sotheby's official, the price of this set of Messi jerseys has surpassed the auction price of anything related to them.

Earlier, the jersey worn by Michael Jordan in the inaugural game of the NBA Finals in 1998 has been bought as the most expensive sports jersey ever, which was purchased last year for $ 10.1 million i.e. Rs 83.84 crore.

People all over the world evince great interest in the jerseys and dresses worn by the celebrities in different fields and buy them on exorbitant prices to keep them as souvenirs.
