Mumbai: Showing his disapproval against ceaseless comparison between Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli, former Indian cricketer Kapil Dev, on Saturday, stated that it is not apt to compare the two.

“Where is the need for such ‘immature’ comparison? Sachin is already a legend while Kohli is still playing at an early age, having a long way to go. I think it is not right to compare them,” said Dev.

“We should not forget that Dhoni has made India proud a lot of times,” said the former Indian captain when asked whether M S Dhoni should quit as captain after India lost in the T20 World Cup.

Responding to queries about the next captain of Indian cricket team, Kapil said it should be left to the five selectors to choose the right man.

What else Kapil Dev said:

  • “The selectors will make a change when they will feel the need of it. Let’s leave it on them.”
  • “We should respect other teams playing better. Even I feel bad every time India loses a match but, at the end of the day, it’s a game.”
