IPL 10 KXIP vs SRH: Hyderabad sets 208-run target to Punjab

Mohali: With the help of a terrific 107-run partnership between openers Shikhar Dhawan and David Warner, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) posted a huge total of 207/3 against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in Indian Premier League (IPL) match at the Punjab Cricket Association ground here on Friday.

The SRH openers took just 60 balls for their 107-run stand. Captain David Warner was the first to depart after adding 51 runs off 27 balls with the help of 4 fours and 4 sixes. Shikhar Dhawan showed signs of being in great form scoring 77 runs off just 48 balls smashing 9 fours and a six.

Yuvraj Singh, who scored a belligerent half-century in the inaugural T20 of the tenth season of IPL, has consistently failed to capitalise on big occasions. Once again, he only managed 15 runs off 12 balls, with 2 fours.

Kane Williamson continued his aggression with the bat as he scored 54* runs off 27 balls hitting 4 flourishing fours and 2 handsome sixes. Moises Henriques, who came in after the departure of Yuvraj Singh, added 7 runs off 6 balls, and rotated the strike well with Williamson who was at his belligerent best today.

Ishant Sharma went for 20 runs in the 19th over of the inning, in which KXIP fielder Manan Vohra made a successful great effort to stop a six.

Ishant Sharma was hit for 41 runs in his four overs while Anureet Singh and KC Kariappa went for 26 and 42 runs in their spells of 2 and 4 overs, respectively. Axar Patel gave away 34 runs in his 3 overs and remained wicket-less.

Kings XI Punjab will soon come back on the ground to chase down a huge target of 208 runs.
