IPL 2022:

As per a release by bookmyshow.com, who are the official ticket partners of BCCI, the board "has announced an increase in stadium occupancy to 50%, which was earlier capped at 25% thereby extending the opportunity for many more fans across India and beyond to experience the IPL action live in the stadia."

The Maharashtra government had initially allowed 25 percent crowds at all the four venues - Wankhede stadium, Brabourne stadium in Mumbai, DY Patil stadium in Navi Mumbai and Maharashtra Cricket Association stadium in Gahunje in Pune.

The Maharashtra government had on Thursday decided to do away with all the Covid restrictions, from April 2 in the entire state.

The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting held during the day. According to reports, using masks was made optional for citizens. The decision to drop all restrictions after nearly two years was taken at a cabinet meeting chaired by the Chief Minister, the State Health Minister Rajesh Tope told the reporters.

The number of fresh daily Covid infections in the state have dwindled to around 100 a day and no new fatalities are being reported. On Monday, there were 964 active cases across 35 districts. Yavatmal, Washim, and Hingoli districts have zero active cases, read a report from the state health department.
