The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 was on the lines with IPL 2011, the season where there were ten teams in rivalry for the trophy.

The IPL 2022 had 74 matches in total out of which 70 belonged to the league and remaining 4 were playoffs. The franchises were divided into two groups of five each. In each group, one team played the other four twice. They also faced the four from second group once.

The IPL teams also encountered one of the four teams from second group twice. However, that one team which will be faced twice by the teams was decided by a draw of lots. That meant, each team played at least 14 matches in total.

To talk about the IPL teams, they were Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Rajasthan Royals, Kolkata Knight Riders, Delhi Capitals, Punjab Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad and two new teams Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants.

So, this was currently the 15th edition of IPL. Due to the fact two more franchises were going to be part of IPL 2022, this year Indian Premier League sponsorship was by the Tata Group. The league was played in the regular T20 format only. Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had firstly established the Indian Premier League T20 cricket championship in 2007. Since then, the IPL has been played at the various grounds throughout the globe.

The first match of IPL was played on 2nd of April 2022 from 07:30 pm (Indian Standard Time), which was between Chennai Super and Kolkata Knight Riders. On the other hand, the final match of India Premier League was commenced on 3rd June 2022 from 07:30 pm onwards.

The venues of 15th Edition of Indian Premier League were Wankhede Stadium, M.A.Chidambaram Chepauk Stadium, Narendra Modi Stadium, Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium, M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Eden Gardens Stadium and BRSABV Ekana Cricket Stadium.

Out of the 74 matches played in the IPL, producer and entrepreneur Sabby Dwivedi, who is also a match-predictor, predicted all except one matches with 100% accuracy rate.
