Kolkata: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) bowlers staged a great comeback in the home match to restrict Rajasthan Royals (RR) to 142 runs in 19 overs in Indian Premier League (IPL 2018) at the Eden Gardens ground here on Tuesday.

Kuldeep Yadav bowled a phenomenal spell getting 4 wickets for 20 runs in four overs to turn the match around. At one point of time, RR was cruising towards a huge total when Jos Buttler and Rahul Tripathi were hitting the ball magnificently.

The duo had established RR to 63 runs in just 4.5 overs when the first wicket (Tripathi) fell. Afterwards, RR batting shattered miserably till Jaaydev Unadkat came and played an impressive cameo to get his team to a competitive total.

Tripathi was the first batsman to depart at the individual score of 27 runs. He took 15 balls and laced his inning with 4 fours and a six. Buttler, who had smashed five back to back half centuries in the tournament before this match went back after adding 39 runs off 22 balls with 5 fours and 2 sixes.

RR skipper Ajinkya Rahane could only score 11 runs off 12 balls with one boundary. Sanju Samson also failed today getting out at 12 runs off 10 balls with two fours. Ben Stokes continued his poor run with the bat as he went back after adding 11 runs off 13 balls without any boundaries.

Stuart Binny scored 1 run off 4 balls while Krishnappa Gowtham added 3 runs off 5 balls. Jaydev Unadkat played an important cameo of 26 runs off 18 balls with 3 fours and a six.

Ish Sodhi went back after adding 1 run to the total off 6 balls while Anureet Singh scored 3 runs off 4 balls.

Apart from Kuldeep Yadav's four-for, Andre Russell (2/13, 3 overs) and Prasidh Krishna (2/35, 4 overs) bagged two wickets each. Shivam Mavi, who was hit for 28 runs in his second over, went for 44 runs in four overs and picked up a wicket.

Sunil Narine also bagged a success in his four overs and conceded 29 runs.

As it is a must win game for both the teams, it is expected to be a good contest when KKR comes in to chase down a modest target of 143 runs at their home ground.
