Bengaluru: Royal Challengers Bangalore strengthened their position in the points table by registering another thumping win by 82 runs via D/L method against Kings XI Punjab at the M.Chinnaswamy stadium here on Thursday.

RCB batsman Virat Kohli yet again scored a century and played a thunderous innings of 113* runs in just 50 balls. He struck 12 boundaries and 8 sixes during his awe-inspiring innings.

Chris Gayle smashed a quickfire 73 off just 32 deliveries to help RCB post 211 runs in a 15-over match.

Chasing a humongous target of 212 runs, Kings XI Punjab have been blown away as were at 121/9 before rain affected the last over of their innings.

Yuzvendra Chahal was the most successful bowler for RCB with the figures of 4-0-25-3 while Sreenath Arawind and Shane Watson bagged two wickets each.

With spectacular ton in today’s game, Virat Kohli has become a first to reach 4000-run mark and replaced Suresh Raina as the highest run getter in the Indian Premiere League.
