IPL 2016: Match Preview- KKR vs RCB

Kolkata: Facing elimination in the league stage of IPL 2016, the Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will take on Kolkata Knight Riders in a must-win game at Eden Gardens on Monday.

The KKR outclasses RCB, the latter’s last hopes of getting it to play-off will be dashed off. On the contrary, the KKR will reach the play-offs in the event of a win as they have already won seven out of 11 matches they have played so far while the RCB has five victories in as many matches.

The match has all the potential to be a cracker as high-stakes are involved for both teams. The Sunrisers Hyederbad is the only team in this IPL to have made it to the play-offs .

Royal Challengers Bangalore-

• The batting line-up of RCB contains explosive batsmen in the form of in-form Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers and KL Rahul beside Chris Gayle and Shane Watson in the ranks.
• The awe-inspiring partnership between Kohli and de Villiers must have boosted the other in-form batsmen of the side.
• The bowling department of RCB, though, looks weak as only Watson and Yujuvendra Chahal are the faces that have given some impactful performances so far.

Kolkata Knight Riders-

• Openers Gautam Gambhir and Robin Utthappa have given them sound start on most of the outings.
• Yusuf Pathan, Andre Russelle and Shakib-Al-Hasan have played cameos in the recent games.
• Sunil Narine and Piyush Chawla have also produced economical spells in the last game against Rising Pune Supergiants.
• As they will play at the home-ground of Eden Gardens, the crowd support will be with them.
