IPL 10 KXIP vs MI: Amla’s ton, Maxwell power help Punjab post 198

Indore: This was not a normal-day for Hashim Amla. His maiden ton and insane hitting from Maxell powered Kings XI Punjab to script a huge target of 198 runs against Mumbai Indian in the Indian Premiere League match at Holkar Cricket stadium here on Thursday.

Amla played an unbeaten knock of 60-ball 104-run. In his breezy inning, he found ropes eight times and was able to hit the ball out of the park six times.

Maxwell appeared from another planet and took just 18 deliveries to play a quick-fire 40-run knock, powered with four fours and three biggies.

Maxwell did the maximum destruction in the over of Mitchell McClenaghan who conceded 28 runs in his six balls with three sixes and a four.

McClenaghan's over was the second most expensive over of IPL 2017 after Ashok Dinda who had conceded 30 off six balls against Mumbai Indians.

After being invited to bat, Kings XI Punjab got a decent start with opening pair of Hashim Amla and Shaun Marsh sharing 46-run stand for the side. Marsh was the first to depart after scoring 26 runs off 21 balls.

In search of some quick runs, Wriddhiman Saha threw his wicket after coming down the track to Krunal Pandya. He was bowled out at 11.

Then came Maxi, who stole the show. Together with Amla, Maxwell stitched 83-run partnership.

Marcos Stonis (1), in order to hit the ball out of the park, was caught by Kieron Pollard near the ropes.

For Mumbai Indians, Mcclenaghan was the leading wicket-taker with bowling figures of 2/46. Krunal and Bumrah picked one wicket each.
