Kolkata: Hurt from the narrow defeat in the hands of Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders would be like an injured lion when it will play its first home fixture against Kings XI Punjab in Indian Premiere League match at Eden Gardens here on Thursday.

Having won one game out of two outings, Gautam Gambhir and company will leave no stone unturned against Glenn Maxwell and company.

KKR will be without Chis Lynn when it will come to lock horns with KXIP. Lynn had dislocated his shoulder in the MI vs KKR game. In that very case, Robin Utthappa is the most probable name to open the inning.

KKR will expect some decent knocks from Manish Pandey and Gautam Gambhir.

KKR's bowling has always remained its lethal weapon. With bowlers like Sunil Narine, Kuldeep Yadav and Trent Boult, it can outclass any batting line-up. Ankit Rajput also shone his brilliance in the last match by picking three Mumbai Indians wickets.

Enjoying the top position in the IPL 2017 points table, Kings XI Punjab has proven itself as an audacious side with all its guns blazing. It has emerged victorious in both of its encounters.

The one positive change which is clearly visible in Punjab since the enthronement of Maxwell as the skipper, the team has started playing aggressive Cricket. Virender Sehwag as Punjab coach acts as icing on the cake.

Captain Glenn Maxwell is in phenomenal form. Other batsmen are also contributing their bits.

As Eden Gardens is geared up to host the cash rich league, Bollywood diva Shraddha Kapoor will be seen delivering a sizzling performance in the opening ceremony before KKR vs KXIP clash.

Sony Pictures network will telecast the match while hotstar.com and Hotstar mobile application will provide live streaming of the Kolkata Knight Riders vs Kings XI Punjab encounter from 8 pm onwards.
