IPL 10 GL vs KKR: Lynn-Gambhir onslaught hands 10-wicket defeat to Gujarat

Rajkot: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) put up a great show of dominance with the bat in their first Indian Premier League (IPL) season 10 match against Gujarat Loins (GL) by registering an emphatic 10-wicket win with 31 balls remaining at the Saurashtra Cricket Association stadium here on Friday.

Chris Lynn played a tremendous 93-run innings, decorated with 6 fours and 8 massive sixes. He took just 41 balls to play such a brilliant inning. He was well accompanied by captain Gautam Gambhir who not only was sensible but also aggressive at the same time during his 76-run inning which came off 48 balls. He smashed 12 boundaries in his eye-catching inning.

None of the Gujarat bowlers had anything to celebrate as all of them, except Praveen Kumar (0/13 in 2 overs), gave away runs with an economy rate of 10 or more.

Dwayne Smith conceded 23 runs in the only over he bowled, while Manpreet Gony was hit for 32 runs off his two overs.

Earlier, after being put in to bat first, Gujarat Lions managed to post a handsome total of 183 runs for the loss of 4 wickets, with the help of a fine fifty by skipper Suresh Raina (68 off 51, 7 fours) and Dinesh Karthik (47 off 25, 6 fours and 2 sixes).

GL did some serious fielding mistakes throughout the match which eventually caused them a massive defeat right at the beginning of the tournament.
