Kolkata: Kolkata Knight Riders rode on its disciplined bowling attack to thump Sunrisers Hyderabad by 17 runs in the Indian Premiere League match at Eden Gardens stadium here on Saturday,

It looked as an impossible task when SRH was in need of 30 runs off the final over with Naman Ojha and Bipul Sharma at the crease. The same proved true when Trent Boult executed things well giving away 13 runs in the final over, leaving SRH behind the target b

Chasing the target of 173 runs, SRH got a fine start with David Warner and shikhar Dhawan sharing 46-run stand for the first wicket. The dismillal of Warner (26) and Dhawan (23) came as major blow for SRH from which it did not get over till it lost the game.

Yuvraj Singh tried to pull up the game for search but his struggle also ended aT a score of 26 runs. His 16-ball knock was laced with two fours and two sixes.

Deepak Hooda (13) and Ben Cutting (15) were the other to depart. For KKR, Chirs Woakes claimed two wickets. Trent Boult, Sunil Narine, Kuldeep Yadav and Yusuf Pathan bagged one wicket each.

Earlier, KKR had posted a total of 172 runs in its inning.

KKR batsman Robin Uthappa played an audacious knock of 39-ball 68-run with five fours and four biggies. Together with Manish Panedy (46), he shared 77-run partnership.

After being invited to bat, Sunil Narine failed to live up his last match heroics as was bowled out by Bhuvi at 6. Gautam Gambhir also was back to the dug-out after scoring 15 runs leaving KKR to struggle at 40/2. Yusuf Pathan remained unbeaten at 21.

For SRH, Bhuvneshwar impressed with bowling figures of 3/20. Ashish Nehra, Ben Cutting and Rashid Khan bagged one wicket each.

With this win, KKR's record remained intact as it never lost to SRH at this ground,
