Indian badminton star PV Sindhu, ranked 15th in the world, had to face defeat in the quarterfinals. He lost 21-16, 21-12 against world number 5 He Bingjiao in the Asian Games 2023.

Two-time U-20 world champion, Indian wrestler Anant Panghal registered an 11-0 victory over reigning Asian Championships silver medalist Jasmina Immeva in the women's freestyle 53kg pre-quarterfinal at the Asian Games 2023.

The 19-year-old wrestler scored five technical points in the first half and six technical points in the second half to book a place in the quarterfinals, where she will face 2021 World Wrestling Championships gold medalist Akari Fujinami of Japan.

India's Vishal Kevat finished 11th in the first heat of men's canoe at the Asian Games 2023 before failing to advance in the second heat. The 20-year-old, on his Asian Games debut, clocked 134.09 seconds.

India is also participating in the women's and men's kayak heats today.

Marilyn Dhanam Arpoudam Charles and Shreyasi Joshi competed in the women's inline freestyle skating speed slalom preliminary round at the Asian Games 2023. However, both the Indian roller skaters could not perform well and failed to make it to the quarterfinals.

Marilyn Dhanam Arpudam Charles scored 5.155 and 5.127 in her two runs and finished 12th. Meanwhile, Shreyasi Joshi scored 6.405 and 5.538 points in her first and second runs respectively and finished 13th.
