Indian women’s cricket team made history on Monday when they bagged the gold medal in Asian Games 2023 being played at Hangzhou in China by defeating Sri Lanka by 19 runs.

Electing to bat after winning the toss, the Indian eves could manage only 116 for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs. The bowlers however did the job and bowled out the Sri Lankans for only 98 runs.

India's 10m men's air rifle team earned the side's first gold medal at Asian Games 2023. The team of world champion Rudrankksh Patil, Olympian Divyansh Panwar and Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar aggregated 1893.7 in the qualification round to better the world record of 1893.3 set by China.

Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar bagged bronze in 10m men's rifle final individual event while India also won the 25m men's rapid fire pistol team bronze at Asian Games 2023. India also secured two bronze medals in rowing events - Men's Four and Men's Quadruple Sculls.

Another medal for India as Aishwary Tomar bagged away the bronze medal in men’s 10m air rifle final in the individual event with 228.8 points. The gold medal has been won by China’s Sheng Lihao, who also broke the world record with 253.3 points. Hajun Park of South Korea won silver with 251.3 points.

Indian Men’s 4x200m Freestyle Relay team has entered the finals. The team featuring of Aryan Nehra, Aneesh Gowda, Kushagra Rawat, and Mathew Tanish George finish fourth in Heat 2, with a time of 7:39.04s.

The Indian women's rugby faced a disappointing 0-15 defeat against Singapore in the Pool F match.
