New Delhi: Indian Cricket team pacer Ishant Sharma turned 28 on Friday. Associated with Indian team since last nine years, the fast bowler has given some memorable performances helping India to win several matches.

Ishant Sharma, who made his debut in 2007 against Bangladesh, is the backbone of bowling line-up of India in Tests.

Ishant has bagged 209 wickets playing 72 Tests for India with an average of 36.71. He has taken eight four-wicket and seven five-wicket hauls.

In 80 One Day Internationals, he has claimed 115 wickets while has picked up 8 wickets in the shortest format of the game, T20Is.

Some brilliant performances:

  • Ishant’s fiery spell of 7/74 against England at ‘Mecca of Cricket’ Lord’s helped India clinching a Test in the venue after 28 years.
  • In the finals of the ICC Champions Trophy 2013, it was Ishant Sharma’s destructive over which turned the game in the favour of Men in Blue. He dismissed the set pair of Bopara-Morgan helping India lifting the trophy.

Indian team will play 13 Tests in the coming months in which Ishant Sharma could play a key role. Virat Kohli led Test side will take on some big teams including New Zealand, England and Australia.
