India Hockey team loses 2-3 to New Zealand in Four-nation tour

The hopes of Indian Hockey team bagging the four-nation Invitational Tournament title crushed with 2-3 defeat in the hands of New Zealand here on Saturday.

Melbourne: The hopes of Indian Hockey team bagging the four-nation Invitational Tournament title crushed with 2-3 defeat in the hands of New Zealand here on Saturday.

Rupinder Pal Singh scored both goals for India in 18th and 57th minute of the game respectively. The hard fought game ended with New Zealand hitting its third goal in the final quarter of the game.

India will take on Malaysia for the 3rd/4th place play-offs. Earlier, India had beaten Malaysia by 4-2 on Friday.
