Lucknow: Indian Premier League is a contest of ups and downs where an expected game-changer could turn into side's biggest failure while any young gun could deliver some unpredictable performances.

IPL 11 tells the same story where big names like Glenn Maxwell, Ben Stokes and others failed miserably. They did not deliver as per their price tags.

Look out five players who are turning out a complete disappointment in IPL 2018:

  1. Ben Stokes (Rajasthan Royals)

The English all-rounder fetched the biggest price (Rs 12.5 crore) in the IPL auction. He had a tremendous season playing for Rising Pune Supergiants, last year but he failed to translate his maverick run in IPL 11. Stokes has failed both with bat and bowl. His scores in IPL 2018 read 5, 16, 27, 14, 45, 40, 0, 1, 2, 12, 14 and 11.

  1. Glenn Maxwell (Delhi Daredevils)

The massive sixes were missing from the bat of the explosive batsman. Despite his complete failure, he is being backed by the Delhi Daredevils coach Ricky Ponting. It seemed as if Ricky wants Maxwell to come back in form for the coming games of Australia. With scores of 17, 13, 47, 4, 12, 27, 6, 5 and 9, Glenn Maxwell could be counted as one of the biggest failures.

  1. Aaron Finch (Kings XI Punjab)

Australia's hard-hitting machine Aaron Finch is another disappointment in the cash rich league. He has scored just 58 runs in his six outings.

  1. Yuvraj Singh (Kings XI Punjab)

People, especially his fans, had lot of expectations from him that he will prove his ground to re-enter in the Indian Cricket team but things turned uglier for the southpaw. He was played in the three games for Punjab where he scored 12, 4 and 20 runs respectively.

  1. Mayank Agarwal (Kings XI Punjab)

He was in the form of his life when Punjab trusted his talent and brought him to strengthen its middle order. He was the top-scorer in domestic Cricket. The batsmen, shockingly, failed in his every outing. His scores read 7, 15, 30, 18, 2*, 21, 12, 2, 0, and 2*, a major setback for Kings XI Punjab.
