IPL 10: Delhi Daredevils (DD) beats Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) by 51 runs

New Delhi: Delhi Daredevils is going fatal with every match of the Indian Premiere League. The young guns combined with some experienced gems are putting their best. This time around, following the wrecking show of DD bowlers, Kings XI Punjab faced a 51-run defeat in the hands of Zaheer Khan and brigade in the cash rich league at Feroz Shah Kotla stadium here on Saturday.

The four-over spells of Chris Morris and Patt Cummins turned fatal for Punjab. Morris claimed three while Morris shown doors to three Delhi batsmen. They kept KXIP batsmen restricted to hit freely till the end of their innings.

Chasing the total of 188 runs, Punjab faced early blows in the form of Manan Vohra (3), Hashim Amla (19) and Wriddhiman Saha (7).

Eoin Morgan (22) and David Miller (24) tried hard to save the sinking ship of KXIP but failed to execute the things right.

Axar Patel was late in launching fireworks but he could be said the lone warrior in Punjab's batting line-up. The 29-ball 44-run knock of Axar was laced with one four and six biggies.

For DD, apart from Morris and Cummins, Shahbaz Nadeem, Corey Anderson and Amit Mishra bagged two, one and one wickets each.

Earlier, the fireworks of Corey Anderson in the slog overs helped Delhi Daredevils put a big total of 188 runs against Kings XI Punjab.Corey Anderson had played a valuable knock of 39 runs for his side in just 22 deliveries. His quick-fire knock was decorated with three fours and three sixes.

After opting to bat, Delhi Daredevils was off to a good start with openers Sanju Samson and Sam Bilings sharing 53-run stand for the first wicket. Samson, who fall prey to Cariappa, was followed by out-of-form Karun Nair to the dug out. Nair got out for a duck.

Bilings played an important knock for Delhi and hit nine fours in his 55-run inning.

Rishabh Pant and Chris Morris also added some quick runs for the side but failed to extend their innings. Pant departed at 15 and Morris' 16-run knock was ended by Sandeep Sharma.
