Aussie Cricketer David Warner Says good Bye to Test cricket

Veteran Australian Cricketer David Warner has announced his retirement from Test cricket. ICC (International Cricket Council) shared this information on its official website on Saturday. He will play the last match of his test career against Pakistan in January 2024.

Before this, Warner will play the final match of Ashesh Series and World Test Championship respectively. Australia and Pakistan will play a test series in in January 2024.

Warner is preparing for what could be his last six tests in eight weeks which includes a World Test Championship (WTC) final against India next week, followed swiftly by the Ashes. His recent Test form has been poor and aggravated by an elbow fracture that ruled him out of the second half of Australia's Test series in India. After this he will be a part of Ashesh Series against England from June 16th.

According to the ICC website, Warner recently spoke about his retirement from tests cricket. He will retire during the Sydney Test against Pakistan in January 2024. Before this he might play a test series of two matches against West Indies.

Warner said before training session in Beckenham in the lead up to the WTC final, if he could score runs then he would continue to play back in Australia. “I can definitely say I won't be playing the West Indies Test series. If I get through this and I can make the Pakistan series, I will definitely finish up then." he said.

Significantly, Warner's career has been excellent. He has scored 8158 runs in 102 Test Matches. In these matches he has scored 3 double centuries, 25 centuries and 34 half-centuries. His best score in Test was 335 runs. He has performed brilliantly against teams like India, England, West Indies and Pakistan.
