CEAT Cricket Awards: Virat, Rohit, Root honoured

Mumbai: Indian batsman Virat Kohli has been announced as 'CEAT T20 Player of the Year' while England reliable batsman Joe Root bagged the 'CEAT International Cricketer of the Year' and 'International Batsman of the Year' awards in a function of CEAT Cricket awards here.

Indian opener Rohit Sharma, who had played some tremendous knocks in the recent past, was named as the 'Indian Cricketer of the Year'.

Indian off-spinner R.Ashwin, who proved a valuable weapon for MS Dhoni in the Asia Cup and World T20, has won the 'Ceat International bowler of the year'.

Former Indian cricketer Dilip Vengsarkar has been honoured with the 'Lifetime Achievement Award'.

Vengsarkar, who was a part of 1983 World Cup winning team, had scored 6868 runs in 116 Tests with 17 centuries.

Young talent Rishabh Pant has been named 'Young Player of the Year' after his spectacular performance in the U-19 World T20.

Test Cricketer of the Year: Kane Williamson

ODI Cricketer of the Year: Martin Guptill

T20 Player of the Year: Virat Kohli

Indian Cricketer of the Year: Rohit Sharma

Domestic Cricketer of the Year: Shreyas Iyer

Young Player of the Year: Rishabh Pant

Special Award: Ajinkya Rahane.
