Bat had hit the ball first, says Virat over controversial dismissal

Bengaluru: The controversial dismissal of Indian skipper Virat Kohli in the second of the four-Test match series is one of the much talked affairs in the Cricketing world. Virat feels that his ball had hit his bat first but he was wrongly given out by the third umpire, after referring the decision.

Umpire Nigel Llong gave Kohli out LBW to Josh Hazelwood after which Indian skipper had taken review quickly. The visual showed chances of ball going on to hit the stumps, but third umpire Richard Kettleborough failed to reach the conclusion whether ball had hit the bat first or pad.

Calling it a part of the game, Kohli said, "I thought the ball hit the bat first. But if the umpires do not think there is conclusive evidence to overturn a decision then it remains the same. It is a thin line, it can go against you or in your favour."

“Sometimes batsmen have these doubtful moments, it can happen to anyone. I asked a few of them and almost half of them thought it wasn't out. Things like these happen and I do not have grudges against anyone,” he added while addressing post-match conference.

Earlier, India thumped Australia by 75 runs in the second Test and levelled four-match series at 1-1.
