Asian Games 2023-Indian women’s cricket team enter semi-finals

Indian women’s cricket team’s quarter-final match against Malaysia was washed out on Thursday but due to higher seeding the Smriti Manadhana-led team entered the last four round.

Indian had a more or less successful Wednesday at the Asian Games 2023 with the women’s cricket team advancing to the semi-finals and also wins for the rowing team and the volleyball team in their respective matches.

Indian women’s cricket team’s quarter-final match against Malaysia was washed out on Thursday but due to higher seeding the Smriti Manadhana-led team entered the last four round.

The Indian squad for the match included Smriti Mandhana (capt), Shafali Verma, Jemimah Rodrigues, Kanika Ahuja, Richa Ghosh (wk), Deepti Sharma, Devika Vaidya, Amanjot Kaur, Pooja Vatsrakar, Minnu Manni, Rajeshwari Gayakwad

The Indian rowers also brought good news as two pairs advanced to the next round. The Indian pair of Satnam Singh & Parminder Singh has also entered the final of the men's double sculls. They posted a slower time than yesterday, but they were able to do the job.

India had a great day on Wednesday in the Asian Games where the men's Volleyball team also qualified for the quarterfinals while starting the day, Arjun Lal Jat and Arvind Singh displayed their determination by securing the second position in the Lightweight Men's Double Sculls event in Rowing.

Later in the day, more Indians will be in action. The Indian women's football team will look to start their campaign with a win as they take on Chinese Taipei.

On the other hand, it will be a chance for redemption when it comes to the Indian men's football team as they take on Bangladesh in their second group stage encounter following a devastating 1-5 defeat against China in the opener.
