Indian shooters bagged gold medal while the golfers scripted a history by winning the silver medal at the Asian Games 2023 being played in China.

After Aditi Ashok won a historic gold in the women's gold event, Indian shooters won two medals, clinching gold and silver in men's and women's trap events.

Aditi is the first Indian woman to win a medal in gold at Asian Games. Stars players like boxer Nikhat Zareen, athletes Jyothi Yarraji and Avinash Sable will be among top medal contenders for India.

While Jyothi and Avinash will aim to finish on the podium in their respective categories, Nikhat, who is already assured of a bronze, will aim to better the colour of her medal on Sunday. Indian shooters will also be in spotlight.

Another medal for India came in shooting, when the women's trap team bag the silver medal with a score of 337. The team comprises of Rajeshwari Kumari, Manisha Keer and Preeti Rajak

Aditi Ashok, who was leading by huge margin, succumbed to pressure on last day. However, she bows out with a silver medal. First ever medal for India in women's gold at Asian Games. This is a big achievement.

India's Vikram Ingale finishes fourth in the final. Just misses out on a bronze medal. Aryanpal Ghuman finishes seventh.

Harinder Pal Singh Sandhu and Dipika Pallikal have won the opening match 11-2, 11-5 against South Korea. Abhay Singh and Anahat Singh in action up next against Yvonne Alyssa Dalida and David William Pelino of the Philippines

After the javelin throw, Swapna Barman climbs to fourth place while Nandini Agasara drops to fifth.
