2026 FIFA World Cup final will be held in New Jersey, a total of 16 cities will host tournament

In the year 2026, the FIFA World Cup final will be held at MetLife Stadium in New York/New Jersey. FIFA organizers announced this on Sunday. As per the schedule, the competition will start on June 11 at the prestigious Azteca Stadium in Mexico City.

FIFA president Gianni Infantino said "the most inclusive and impactful FIFA World Cup ever is no longer a dream but a reality as it takes the shape of 104 matches across 16 state-of-the-art stadiums in Canada, Mexico and the United States."

The FIFA president said Atlanta and Dallas will host the semi-finals while the third-place game will be played in Miami. The quarterfinal games will be played in Los Angeles, Kansas City, Miami and Boston. A total of 16 cities across the three countries will host the Games, with the majority of matches taking place in the United States.

The 1994 World Cup was also held in the United States and the final was held at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, near Los Angeles. The decisions were announced on a live television broadcast in North America featuring Infantino as well as actor Kevin Hart, rapper Drake and celebrity Kim Kardashian.

48 teams are going to participate in the tournament. There will be a total of 104 matches. 16 cities will host the tournament whose names are as follows, Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Guadalajara, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Mexico City, Miami, Monterrey, New York-New Jersey, Philadelphia, San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle, Toronto and Vancouver.
