New Delhi: Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his gratitude towards the workers, saluting their hard work for nation's progress, on the occasion of International Labour Day.

The Prime Minister took to microblogging site Twitter and wrote that the workers of the country have showed their determination and dedication which has resulted in India's progress on the path of development.

Saluting the hard work of workers who work for the development of the country, the PM said, “Today, on Labour Day we salute the determination and hard work of countless workers who play a big role in India’s progress. Shrameva Jayate!."

It is worth mentioning that the International Labour Day is celebrated every year on May 1 to marks the victory of workers’ movement for eight hours of work. It also aims to pay tribute to workers sacrifices in achieving economic and social rights all over the world.
