New Delhi: When many political outfits were condemning the government's decision of demonetisation by calling a "Bharat bandh" on November 28, India stood firm with their Prime Minister on Monday as the people of the country not only ensured proper functioning of their businesses but also made #IndiaRejectsBandh the top trend of micro-blogging website Twitter.

The opposition parties in the Parliament have been claiming that demonetisation has worst struck the poor, farmers, small traders and common people of the country. But it was seen across almost all states that small to large traders and businessmen had kept their shops and offices opened on Monday.

The opposition parties have been disrupting both Houses of the Parliament and asking PM Narendra Modi to be present there for debate over his decision which has disturbed the normal lives of people as they have to spend long hours in the bank and ATM queues to fulfill their daily needs.

Many politicians, including Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal, have described the government's decision of scrapping Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes as a huge scam.

The most number of Indians, despite all the odds they are facing due to the decision, have come up and praised PM Modi for his bold step to eradicate black money and corruption from the country.

Several tweets also informed about the smooth functioning of the markets even in Kejriwal-led Delhi and Mamata Banerjee's West Bengal. People revealed that the shops and offices opened at their regular timing and remained opened till late.

Well, with very few tweets in support of "Bharat Bandh", it can be seen clearly that PM Modi and his government have complete backing of the people of the country.
