Lucknow: From elaboration of abbreviations like SCAM and VIKAS to launch of mouth-to-mouth war, the political battlefield for 2017 assembly elections, Uttar Pradesh, has experienced it all in past one month and now the campaigning for the first phase of the high-stake UP polls comes to an end on Thursday .
The state was presented the report card by the ruling party with opposition pointing out at the failures of the former and listened to the another set of promises done by each one of the political knight in the battlefield and while UP has geared up to decide the fate of its leaders, today is the last chance for the parties to leave an impression on the electorate.
It could be mentioned that over 2.57 crore voters including about 1.17 crore women will exercise their franchise in the first phase. Out of them, 24.25 lakh are in the 18-19 age group.
The polling in the state will commence on February 11 and the results will be declared on March 11.
