Rampur: Courting another controversy, senior Samajwadi Party (SP) leader said, calamities like drought will occur when the king is corrupt.

“Situations like drought and other calamities will occur when the King himself is corrupt and I am not saying this. This was said by Puri’s Shankaracharya,” Azam said while talking to media persons on Sunday.

He, however, did not clarify that the remark was made in whose context—Prime Minister Narendra Modi or Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, as five districts of Bundelkhand are also reeling under severe scarcity of water.

Attacked BJP:

Launching a withering attack on the saffron party, Khan said senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Lal Krishna Advani is in the fray of becoming the next president and this was the reason he keeps praising the work done by their party.

The Urban Welfare Minister even remarked that Modi should tell the people of Varanasi that what he has done for his parliamentary constituency.

Personal attack:

Khan, making a personal attack on Modi and said that his mother saw his official residence after two years of assuming the prime post.

Mulayam to maalik hai:

In a query on giving Rajya Sabha ticket to Amar Singh, Azam reiterated that,”Mulayam to party ke maalik hai, maalik jo chahe faisla le”.
