UP Assembly Elections 2022: Congress releases first list of 125 candidates

New Delhi: The Congress Party has released the first list for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections. Priyanka Gandhi has released the first list of Congress. There are 125 candidates in this list, including 50 women candidates. Priyanka Gandhi said that along with women, some journalists and social workers are also included in the Congress candidates. The mother of the Unnao rape victim has also been nominated by the Congress.

50 women in first list of Congress:

Talking about the big names, Salman Khurshid's wife Louise Khurshid has got the ticket. Sadaf Jaffer has also been made a candidate. Congress has fielded Asha Singh from Unnao. Priyanka said that her girl was raped earlier. Then later an accident was also done. Apart from this, Sadaf Jaffer, who agitated against the NRC-CAA, has been made a candidate. Apart from this, Poonam Pandey has got the ticket.

Priyanka Gandhi said that out of 125 candidates, 40 percent are women and 40 percent are youth. With this historic decision, we hope that a new kind of politics will start in the state. She said that our Unnao candidate is the mother of the Unnao gang rape victim. We have given them a chance to continue their struggle. The power through which her daughter was tortured, her family was ruined, they should get the same power.

UP Elections 2022:

We have also given ticket to Ramraj Gond, one of the victims of Sonbhadra massacre. Similarly, the Asha sisters did a lot of work in Corona, but they were beaten up. We have also given ticket to one of them, Poonam Pandey.

Priyanka Gandhi further said that Sadaf Jaffer had struggled a lot during CAA-NRC. The government harassed him by getting his photo printed in the poster. My message is that if you are tortured then fight for your rights. Congress is with such women. There are a total of 403 seats in UP where assembly elections are to be held in seven phases.
