Lucknow: Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati has nothing praise-worthy about the Ujjwala gas scheme launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Ballia last Sunday." He is making mountain of a molehill", she said in a statement released here on Monday.

The scheme will cover only a small percentage of population of the state, which she estimated at 22 crore, and the country of 125 crore people. " It is all the more regrettable because he represents the state in the Lok Sabha and out of 80 MPs 73 belong to the ruling BJP" she lamented.

The fact that a sizable population of the country is without a gas connection only points towards a" bad governance ", she said.

The Dalit leader demanded not only a free gas connection but also a free cooking gas to all. Distribution of E-Rickshaw in Varanasi, his parliamentary constitution, by Modi amounted to neglect of the rest of the 79 constituencies in the state.

Drawing a parallel between the Congress and the Samajwadi Party government she said that like the former the latter was “misusing" public money on a few areas like Etawah district from where U P chief minister hailed.
