Sushil Modi promises legal action against Lalu Yadav's sons

Patna: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sushil Modi on Tuesday promised legal action against the sons of former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav under the 'Benami property' law.

Accusing Lalu of misusing the governmental powers to shield his sons from law, he asserted that the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief himself doesn’t know how much properties he owns. "There are only two men who know about all the properties of Lalu Yadav and his family – Bhola Yadav and Shakti Singh," he claimed.

He also dared former Bihar CM to breakdown the Grand Alliance, saying, "Lalu Yadav very well knows that if the grand alliance collapses, he, his sons and family members would suffer the biggest damage. His family has landed in deep trouble following the revelation of benami property scam which worth thousands of crores."

"He needs support of the state government to escape any legal proceedings against his sons. So, this is a fact that RJD is not going to snap ties with the Nitish Kumar government at any cost," he added.
