SP Parliamentary board meeting: Akhilesh’s wish fulfilled
Lucknow: Setting all speculations at rest, the parliamentary board of the Samajwadi party on Saturday decided against merger of Quami Ekta Dal into it. The decision will please chief minister Akhilesh Yadav as he was totally opposed to the merger right from the beginning.
He had made his displeasure known at a programme organised by a television channel earlier in the day.
The parliamentary board also decided to take back secondary education minister Balram Yadav who was sacked for initiating the merger talk with the QED.
Senior party leader Ram Gopal Yadav who briefed media persons about the meeting said the national executive of the party might be revamped soon.
The central parliamentary board meeting was chaired by Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav.
