UP Polls: Shivpal Yadav releases new list of 68 candidates

Lucknow: Intensifying the internal feud within the Samajwadi Party, senior party leader Shivpal Yadav on Thursday night released a new list of 68 candidates for the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls 2017.

Earlier in the day on Thursday, UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav released a parallel list of 235 candidates which is being seen as a clear defiance to the party leadership, headed by his father and party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav.

Shivpal released the list of 68 MLA candidates out of 78 remaining after having three back to back meetings in a single day with elder brother Mulayam Singh Yadav at his residence.

Earlier on Wednesday, Mulayam Singh, along with Shivpal, had announced the names of their 325 candidates for the upcoming UP polls. The list, however, didn’t include the name of a single Akhilesh Yadav loyalist.
