New Delhi: The visit of Ram Gopal Yadav, senior Samajwadi Party ,to the Election Commission office here on Tuesday, has led to all kinds of speculations including the one that he may make some major announcement soon. At least it clearly indicates that all is not well with the party as is being claimed .

No reason has been given by the party for his visit to the Commission office here. The election in the state is due next year and he might have gone there to discuss the issue. It is one of the speculations.

Ram Gopal is chief minister Akhilesh Yadav backer and has not got many things in common with state party president Shivpal Yadav who has differences with Akhilesh on more than one issues. It is one of the reasons for debate on the subject.

Significantly, his visit has come in the wake of an e-mail reportedly sent by some youth leaders of the party the same day. These leaders many of whom have been sacked by the new state party chief have threatened to boycott the much-touted silver jubilee function of the party next month.

These leaders claim to have support of as many as 32 senior youth leaders who were representing different youth wings of the party. They have urged other youth representatives to also boycott the function .

If the grape-vine is to be believed, party MP Ram Gopal may also keep away from the function and may make some major announcements during the event. He has made his displeasure over certain developments in the party known to its national leader, Mulayam Singh Yadav.

In a letter to him he had urged him to project Akhilesh as chief ministerial face during upcoming poll in the state and retract his statement that the chief ministerial candidate is not decided yet. Mulayam has obliged him by saying that Akhilesh alone will fill the post if the party is voted back to power.

He,however, has some more grievances. One of them is that Mulayam provides ears to party MP Amar Singh who has " created troubles" in the party and the Yadav family. He, along with Akhilesh, had opposed his re-entry into the party and Mulayam vetoed the proposal and brought him in.

Clearly, next few days in the party will be interesting to watch.
