SCAM Remark: Modi has reached a new low in politics, says Mayawati

Lucknow: Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati has alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched a cheap political battle by naming her as part of the 'SCAM' in Uttar Pradesh.

Earlier in a rally in Meerut, PM Modi described Samajwadi Party (S), Congress (C), Akhilesh (A) and Mayawati (M) as part of 'SCAM' in the state.

Mayawati said that Modi has reached a new low in the politics. "By doing so the prime minister has manifested his anti-Dalit and 'manuvadi' mentality," she added during a press conference in the state capital.

"This also shows that BJP and Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) are against the reservation policy for Dalits and OBCs and they will soon scrap the provision from the constitution as well," said Mayawati.

She alleged that the PM Modi's speech in Meerut clearly shows that the central government was full of hatred and had understood that they were going to suffer a massive defeat in the UP elections.

"The prime minister raised the issues like corruption, black money, false promises, Samajwadi Party's wrong policies and anti-people activities in his speech. But he should have looked at his own party before pointing fingers towards anyone else," stated the BSP chief.

Attacking the Modi government for politicising the surgical strike carried out by Indian Army across LoC, Mayawati said, "Boasting about such acts does not suit a person holding the post of Prime Minister. But his past records clearly show that he can go down to any level for political benefits."

She condemned PM Modi for not fulfilling the promises made to the people of the country during Lok Sabah elections 2014 campaigns and said that this was the biggest agenda of the UP polls 2017.

"The PM is frightened of facing the consequences of making false promises to the people. Hence, he is trying to misguide people, but this time, people will punish him for what he has done to them," she concluded.
