New Delhi: Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) chief Ram Vilas Paswan on Tuesday made it clear that the construction of Ram temple at Ayodhya was Bharatiya Janata Party's agenda and not that of his party.

"Ram temple is a BJP issue, it not an issue of the NDA," said Paswan.

His statement came after Janata Dal-United (JD-U) chief Nitish Kumar's remarks that the construction of the grand Ram temple was not his party’s agenda and it would accept the apex court's verdict on the Ayodhya title suit.

LJP MP and son of Ram Vilas Paswan, Chirag Paswan also said that everyone should wait for the Supreme Court's verdict on the issue.

JD-U has cleared its stand on Ram Janmabhoomi issue by repeatedly saying that the party was not with the BJP on Ram Mandir case.

The political reactions came after thousands of Hindu activists and leaders gathered in Ayodhya to attend a ‘Dharma Sabha’ called by the 'Vishwa Hindu Parishad' (VHP) on Sunday. The 'Dharma Sabha' was called to frame a strategy for the construction of grand Ram temple and accelerate the process by putting pressure on the ruling party.

The hearing of Ayodhya title suit would commence in January 2019.
