Rajasthan Assembly Polls: Smaller outfits, rebels to fate of Congress, BJP

Smaller caste based outfits and the rebels would decide how tough the forthcoming Rajasthan assembly polls will be for the two main players-Congress nd BJP.

Both Congress and BJP have declared their nominees on almost all the 200 seats in the state and the picture is more or less clear now.

But how tough the election will be between these major parties will be decided by the candidates of the rebel and third front parties. Barring one or two seats, the main contest in most of the assembly constituencies is between Congress and BJP.

The last day for filing of nomination of candidates for the assembly elections is Monday. A large number of nominations are expected on this day. Nominations of some prominent candidates of Congress and BJP have not been done yet, while the entire candidates from the third front parties have not been declared yet. However, the real picture of the contest will emerge only after the withdrawal process is completed.

Congress and BJP are face to face on most of the seats in the state. Rebel candidates and third front parties are still seen registering their presence on some seats. Although in the election environment, many leaders of Congress and BJP have rebelled after they were denied tickets and have announced to contest the elections as independents, but the truth of these claims will be revealed on Monday.

After the list of candidates of major parties came out, rebellious voices have emerged rapidly in Congress and BJP. To stop these voices, both the parties have started damage control efforts, but except BJP in Tijara, the damage control efforts of these parties do not seem to be effective in most of the assembly constituencies.

The work of filing nominations for the first phase of assembly elections is in the final stages. Leaders and candidates of Congress and BJP have started making their strategy. Although this strategy currently also includes efforts to win over the rebels and influential independents, but if these efforts are not successful, then other strategies are also being prepared.

Congress and BJP have written the election script by fielding all their candidates, now these parties are waiting for the tour of their big leaders to start for victory. Strategists of both the parties are confident that the visits of their big leaders will create an electoral environment in favor of the candidates, which will make their path to victory easier.
