Punjab Election Result 2022: I will be the CM of all Punjabis, says Bhagwant Mann

The Aam Aadmi Party may make huge gains in Punjab as counting of the votes begin if exit polls got it right. This will be a huge blow for the Congress as Punjab is a stronghold of the Grand Old Party. If AAP gets to win Punjab, this will be Arvind Kejriwal's first big win outside Delhi.

For months ahead of the polls, Congress battled anti-incumbency and internal strife with Congress state chief and the chief minister not being on the same page. What started between Navjot Sidhu and Amarinder Singh continued between Sidhu and Charanjit Singh Channi as well, after Channi replaced Amarinder Singh. However, Congress put up a united face after Channi was declared the CM candidate. The Shiromani Akali Dal contested the election with the Bahujan Samaj Party. BJP tied up with Amarinder Singh's Punjab Lok Congress and SAD (Sanyukt) led by SS Dhindsa.
