Chandigarh: Bharatiya Janata Party's Punjab state Chief Vijay Sampla offered resignation from the party post.

Political sources claimed that Sampla was unhappy with the ticket distribution process of the party ahead of upcoming assembly elections.

Sampla, on Monday, said that he has sent his resignation letter to BJP president Amit Shah but the party high command has not accepted his resignation yet.

A party source stated, "he was unhappy after his suggestions for candidate was ignored by senior party leaders in Delhi."

It may be mentioned that Punjab would go to polls on February 4 in single phase and BJP has released its first list of 17 candidates for the election.
