Priyanka Gandhi embraces active politics, given charge of UP East
The party President Rahul Gandhi has given a full swing to sister Priyanka's political career by giving her the responsibility of east UP, meanwhile, many party workers and senior leaders were also demanding Priyanka to enter in active politics.
Lucknow: The Congress party on Wednesday has appointed Priyanka Gandhi Vadra as party General Secretary of eastern Uttar Pradesh. She is said to take charge in the first week of February, as per sources.
Priyanka has replaced Ghulam Nabi Azad as the AICC general Secretary of Uttar Pradesh. Azad will now be AICC General Secretary for Haryana.

Priyanka has so far only campaigned in the two family boroughs of Rae Bareli and Amethi, where she has been able to tap into the mood of the votes and is extremely popular on the campaign trail.

It is to be mentioned that, Jyotiraditya Scindia has been appointed Congress General Secretary for Uttar Pradesh West, while KC Venugopal has been appointed Congress General Secretary (Organisation).
Venugopal will be replacing Ashok Gehlot - the new Rajasthan Chief Minister- who was serving as the party General Secretary (Organisation).
