PM Modi's Historic Rally in Srinagar: A Turning Point for Kashmir

In a meaningful gesture, Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in an event commemorating the death anniversary of the esteemed Sufi saint, Moinuddin Chishti. The meeting involved a delegation from the Muslim community, during which PM Modi presented them with a ceremonial 'chadar,' a symbolic offering for placement at the revered Ajmer Sharif Dargah.

The sacred chadar presentation is part of the larger celebrations of the 812th Urs of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti, which commenced on January 8. The Gori family from Bhilwara raised the flag on January 7, marking the beginning of the annual Urs festivities.

The delegation, consisting of approximately 10 members, received the chadar from PM Modi, creating a memorable moment captured in pictures shared on social media. Union Minister of Minority Affairs Smriti Irani and the president of the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) minority morcha, Jamal Siddiqui, were also present during the meeting.

Amidst the Urs celebrations, the Khadims of Ajmer Dargah reached out to Prime Minister Modi, seeking intervention to ensure the safety and security of individuals attending the Urs from January 13 to 21. The request emphasizes the inclusive nature of the Urs, welcoming people from all over the world, irrespective of caste, creed, color, and religion.

In the coming days, Kalandars from Delhi are expected to arrive in Ajmer, continuing a longstanding tradition of presenting offerings at the dargah. Additionally, a special train from the Atari border is scheduled to bring a delegation of devotees from Pakistan on January 14.

The Urs festivities include the formal unlocking of the 'jannati darwaja' for devotees, beginning with the sighting of the moon. Since Tuesday, the dargah has been accessible throughout the day, accommodating the increasing number of devotees participating in the religious events.

Prime Minister Modi's act of presenting the sacred chadar adds a spiritual touch to the Urs celebrations, reinforcing the message of unity and cultural richness that events like these bring to the forefront. The chadar, to be placed at Ajmer Sharif Dargah, serves as a symbol of reverence and inclusivity, resonating with the ethos of the annual Urs and the teachings of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti.
