Opposition MPs protest against suspension of MPs, march taken out from Parliament to Vijay Chowk

As many as 142 MPs from Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha have been suspended so far over ruckus in the Parliament. On Thursday, opposition MPs also took out a protest march against the government.

Acrimony between the ruling party and the opposition members continued with the latter adamant on their demand that union home minister Amit Shah made a statement in the Parliament on the recent spray attack in the House.

As many as 142 MPs from Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha have been suspended so far over ruckus in the Parliament. On Thursday, opposition MPs also took out a protest march against the government.

In this march taken out by INDIA alliance, MPs marched from Parliament House to Vijay Chowk. MPs from all parties including Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge participated in this march. During this time, Mallikarjun Kharge and the MPs accompanying him were holding a big banner in their hands. On which it was written "Save Democracy" and "Parliament closed, democracy expelled!"

The marching MPs were led by Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge, who accused the ruling BJP - which yesterday passed three bills to replace India's criminal laws - after nearly two-thirds of the opposition were voted out of power.

Even after the suspension of opposition MPs, many important bills were passed in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday. Today (Thursday) these bills will be presented in the Rajya Sabha.

At the same time, today the leaders of INDIA alliance will take out a march from Parliament House to Vijay Chowk against the suspension of opposition MPs by the Lok Sabha. MPs from all those parties including Congress who have been suspended from the Lok Sabha can also participate in this march.

According to the information received so far, the bills which can be introduced and passed in the Lok Sabha today. They include the Chief Election Commissioner and other Election Commissioners (Appointment, Conditions of Service and Term of Office) Bill, 2023 and the Press and Periodical Registration Bill, 2023. In the Rajya Sabha today, the Indian Judicial Code, 2023, Indian Civil Defense Code, 2023, Indian Evidence Bill, 2023 and Telecommunication Bill, 2023 will be introduced for consideration and passing.
